Malaga
It is easy to understand why Malaga City is capital of the Costa del Sol. Once considered the poor cousin of Andalusia’s capital city, Seville, it now competes successfully for attention, thanks to its profusion of quirky museums, delightful pedestrianised centre, innovative restaurants and stylish hotels, many featuring trendy rooftop terraces with bar, pool and stunning views. Muelle Uno is a contemporary leisure complex in the port – while a new arty district called SOHO is bringing a bohemian edge to the city.
Torremolinos
Torremolinos has over recent years, has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort noted for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of hotels and restaurants and unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities and nightlife available.
Benalmadena
A promenade stretches along the coast to the Puerto Marina (Marine Port), which boasts excellent shopping and dining. The marina is also home to The Sea Life Centre, home to all manners of marine wild life, and has its own petting tank where you can get personal with the Rays. You can take a stroll around to look at the floating hotels and millionaire’s yachts and when the sun goes down the Puerto Marina becomes one of the coasts best party destinations.
El Higueron
El Higueron is an exclusive area, nestled in the heights between Benalmadena and Fuengirola. Some developments, are located on the Fuengirola side, and other Benalmadena, and common for the area is the magnificent views and the beach and city center near by..
Fuengirola
Only 25km from Malaga International Airport is the town of Fuengirola – one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol. Easily accessible by road, rail or bus, it is not difficult to see why this buzzing cosmopolitan town on the Mediterranean is the number one choice for so many. Previously, it was a tiny fishing village, and now Fuengirola has become a vibrant metropolis with character.
Mijas
Mijas municipal district is comprised of three very different areas, Mijas Pueblo (the village), Mijas Costa (the coastal strip) and Las Lagunas (a modern residential and comercial area). There are also three small rural out-lying districts called Entrérros, Osunillas and Valtocado.
La Cala de Mijas
La Cala de Mijas, covers an area of Mijas Costa as well as the golf areas of La Cala de Mijas Golf Mijas Costa is a 12 kilometre coastal stretch of modern (post 1960) tourist orientated development including the popular La Cala de Mijas and Sitio de Calahonda (a large residential estate) within the municipal district of Mijas. Mijas Costa is located between Fuengirola and Marbella, being at least 10km away from the village of Mijas and having to pass through Fuengirola to get between one and another leads to some confusion.
Marbella
Marbella is known as a glamorous resort town and is a favourite location with the rich and famous, boosted by foreign residents who are seduced by the lifestyle. The old town with its narrow cobbled streets and flower-filled plazas is packed with delightful shops and art galleries selling pretty clothes and accessories, and handmade wares. One of the prettiest spots is the fabled orange tree-filled Plaza de los Naranjos, which is located just off the main street and is home to the 16th-century town hall For more contemporary fashions, Puerto Banus has all the top international designer stores. Which also makes you enjoy all the exclusive cars and big yachts, the beach clubs all over the Marbella coast line.

The Golden Mile in Marbella is known as a glamorous resort town and is a favourite location with the rich and famous, boosted by foreign residents who are seduced by the lifestyle. But there’s plenty for ordinary folk to see and enjoy too in southern Spain’s answer to St Tropez.
Puerto Banús
Puerto José Banús, more commonly known simply as Puerto Banús, is a marina located in the area of Nueva Andalucía, to the southwest of Marbella, Spain on the Costa del Sol. It was built in May 1970 by José Banús, a local property developer, as a luxury marina and shopping complex. It has since become one of the largest entertainment centres in the Costa del Sol, with 5 million annual visitors, and is popular with international celebrities.
Nueva Andalucía
Nueva Andalucía is the largest neighbourhood in Marbella, extending over several square kilometres. It has an official census population of about 15,000 but considerably more residents in the summer. It was created by Madrid developer José Banús Mas, who came to Marbella in 1962 and acquired the land. Construction of Puerto Banús began in 1965, it was inaugurated in 1968, and the main infrastructure of Nueva Andalucía was installed shortly afterward. The area continued to grow until 1989 - and again in the 2000s. And still ongoing, as new construction of contemporary villas is a big part of the area today.
Benahavís
History The history of Benahavis starts at the end of the XIth century, when the Arabs founded the town. Closely related with the Costa del Sol’s Arabic past, and particularly with Marbella, the district which it belonged to until it was granted the so-called “Carta Puebla” by Philip II in 1572. Montemayor Castle, built prior to the Construction of Benahavis, playes a very important role in the battles between the various Arabs kings in Andalusia, because of its strategic position. It was disputed for many years by the military factions of the epoch. Its prominent location overlooking up to a hundred kilometres of seaboard, and even the African coast, was extremely useful at a time when piracy and invasion were commonplace.
The New Golden Mile
The New Golden Mile is the area from San Pedro de Alcántara to Estepona. Consisting of smaller communities located either side of the highway there are many interesting locations including both beachside and golf which are popular with both residents and no-residents alike. The golf courses include El Paraiso, and Atalaya and La Resina Golf, which are surrounded by quality villas and apartments many of which have stunning views towards the coast.
Estepona
Estepona is a small fishing village with lots of character and an interesting history, reflected by the large number of fascinating old buildings in town. However if you are more interested in the present than the past, don’t worry, there is plenty for everyone to experience and enjoy.
Casares
Casares is a picture postcard village with a population of just three thousand and the view from the approach is definitely worth a photo. To say that Casares is beautiful is an understatement. Most of the white villages are beautiful but there is something very special about the sight of Casares that causes the visitor to park the car and simply stare or take a photo. There are the sugar cubes again, piled precariously high and just nudging the battlements of an Arab castle.
Manilva
Manilva is a municipality which lies on the coast at the southwesternmost edge of the province of Málaga on its border with the province of Cádiz in the autonomous community of Andalusia in Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Costa del Sol Occidental. Manilva’s strategic position, close to the entrance to the Mediterranean, has resulted in a long history of settlement in the area going back to the Stone Age.
